Freson Bros., an Alberta-owned and operated fresh food retail chain, invites experienced self-starters to apply for the Accountant position. Based out of the Freson Bros. Operations Office in Stony Plain, this position plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day Accounting and Finance operations of the company.

Qualifications:

1. 3-5 years of operational experience in a full-cycle accounting position
2. Post-secondary degree in Accounting and/or an Accounting Diploma
3. Strong knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis and reporting
4. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
5. Strong organization skills and knowledge of accounting principles
6. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
7. Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
8. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, and accounting software
9. Most importantly, the willingness and enthusiasm for continuous learning and development.

Responsibilities:

1. Review journal entries, and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy
2. Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with accounting principles and standards
3. Provide support to other members of the Finance and Accounting team
4. Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports
5. Perform financial analysis and support other financial projects as needed

Position Type: Full Time

Reports to: Controller

Work Environment: In-Person, Stony Plain Operations Office

Starting Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 / year based on education and experience
