Our Head Office is recruiting for an Accountant to join our Finance team in Saint John, NB. This is a great opportunity for an individual working towards or planning to pursue their Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, with a robust support program to enable candidate success as they work towards their designation.

Reporting to the Team Lead - Accounting, the responsibilities of the Accountant will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supports full cycle accounting, recording, reporting, and reconciliation of financial activities to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Prepares monthly bank reconciliations, assists in the reconciliation of accounts related to payables, receivables, expenses, and capital assets to ensure accuracy.
  • Manages the company’s corporate credit cards and employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Performs various financial analyses and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Assists the Accounts Payable Administrator in responding to queries relating to the processing and payment of vendor invoicing.
  • Works closely with other departments to ensure that expenses are appropriately captured and classified, and provides support as needed for financial inquiries.
  • Assists with the preparation of supporting documentation for financial audits and reporting.
  • Suggests and supports improvements to processes that enhance efficiency and accuracy in managing accounts payable, credit cards, and expense reporting.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role or co-op experience is considered an asset.
  • Recently completed, working towards, or a desire to pursue an accounting designation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with mid-market or top-tier ERP systems is ideal.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Highly organized, adaptable to change, and eager to learn.
