Arise Talent Hub, on behalf of our valued client, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join a reputable and growing organization in Ottawa, ON. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to the financial health and operational efficiency of a dynamic team in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Position Overview

The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical abilities, sound knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records including journal entries, general ledger, and account reconciliations
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely and accurate manner
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparation of financial reports
  • Assist with payroll processing and government remittances
  • Prepare and file HST returns and other required regulatory filings
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities through data analysis and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies
  • Communicate with external auditors and provide required documentation as needed
Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Effective communication and time management skills
