The Opportunity:

Our client, a consumer electronics company, is looking for an Accountant to join their team in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Reporting into the Accounting and Finance Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for supporting business decisions through accurate financial analysis and ensuring compliance with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of financial statements in accordance with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
• Providing actionable financial insights to enhance performance and reporting accuracy.
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, leadership, and external stakeholders.
• Developing and analyzing cash flow forecasts to support strategic business decisions.
• Assisting with annual department and corporate budget preparation, including quarterly and annual variance analysis.
• Partnering with department heads to align budgeting and financial analysis with organizational goals.
• Preparing and reconciling general ledger accounts, including inventory adjustments.
• Reviewing financial statements and facilitating external auditing processes.
• Assisting in documenting and enhancing departmental procedures, including the development of new processes for improved financial reporting efficiency.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or other related field.
• 3 – 5+ years of accounting experience in a fast-paced work environment.
• Previous experience working with ASPE accounting standards.
• Strong proficiency in Excel with working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities and utilize problem-solving skills to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Complimentary Experience:

• Currently held CPA designation or demonstrated progression towards CPA designation is strongly preferred.
