Position Summary

MEDLOG Canada, a leader in logistics and transportation solutions, is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accountant to join our Finance team. This role plays a key part in supporting the company’s day-to-day financial operations — including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and reporting — and will contribute to the successful integration of financial processes across our operational systems. The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, experience in logistics or a related industry, and the ability to work with high volumes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries; maintain and reconcile the general ledger
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
  • Perform reconciliations for balance sheet and bank accounts
  • Support internal and external audits with required documentation
  • Process accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, and adjustments
  • Analyze financial data, identify variances, and prepare related reports
  • Ensure accounting accuracy in SAP and integration across related systems
  • Support the Finance Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and special projects
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and system optimization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Payroll, and HR
  • Prepare weekly and monthly analytical reports measuring KPIs

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA designation an asset, but not mandatory
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in logistics, transportation, or supply chain
  • Proficiency in SAP (FI / CO modules); experience with integrated business systems is a strong asset
  • Solid understanding of Canadian GAAP and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communicator with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Bilingual (English and French), an asset
