Job description

Marquis Snow and Ice Ltd. is a trusted name in commercial snow removal, property maintenance, and construction. With a reputation for reliability and quality, we serve a range of clients year-round, keeping their properties safe, clean, and well-maintained.

We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. This position requires 25 hours per week and the company is open to full-time hours. The position is primarily work-from-home and the the successful candidate must be available for on-site meetings or administrative support as needed. The company is open to an Independent Contractor relationship with the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Full-cycle bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online
• Accounts payable
• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• HST filings and year-end preparation in coordination with the external accountant
• Tracking job costs and expenses across multiple service lines
• Preparing financial reports, working papers, etc. for management and external accountants
• Maintaining organized and accurate digital financial records
• Liaising with company accountants.

Qualifications

• CPA designation considered an asset.
• Accounting degree is an asset.
• 5 years of accounting experience.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (testing may be required)
• Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards and tax requirements
• Experience in construction or service-based industries considered a strong asset
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
• Strong communication skills and professionalism
