Job summary

Agilus by Synergie is seeking an Accountant in Edmonton to support daily financial operations within a high-volume hospitality and food & beverage environment.

The role focuses on reconciliations, data accuracy, and financial reporting, with exposure to Moneris and Squirrel POS systems. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of accounting experience and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years accounting or financial reconciliation experience.
• Experience with credit card settlements and payment processing.
• Familiarity with hospitality/gaming/restaurant industries.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with Great Plains or similar ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly reconciliations between third-party payment processors and POS systems.
• Complete cash call statement reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare financial summaries and supporting documentation for senior accounting review.
• Track, reconcile, and maintain gift certificate and promotional program balances.
• Monitor and reconcile internal meal and employee usage programs.
• Update and maintain food & beverage inventory records and supporting spreadsheets.
• Review inventory-related transactions and validate data accuracy.
• Assist with ad hoc accounting, reporting, and financial analysis as required.

We are seeking an Accountant to join a fast-paced and collaborative environment supporting daily financial operations within a high-volume hospitality and food & beverage setting. Monday to Friday in office

A day in the life:

Successful candidates will have:

• 1-2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or financial reconciliation experience
• Experience working with credit card settlement and payment processing systems
• Knowledge of Food & Beverage POS systems and transaction reconciliation
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and spreadsheet management
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Great Plains or similar ERP systems
• Experience working in hospitality, gaming, restaurant, entertainment, or related industries
• Experience performing Moneris (third-party credit card processor) vs. Squirrel POS (F&B POS) reconciliations.
