DESCRIPTION :

Reporting to the Manager – Accounting, the Fixed Asset Accountant will be a key member of a dynamic Accounting & Finance team, responsible for the recording of capital projects, joint venture transactions, and related monthly reporting. The successful candidate will track existing fixed assets, record depreciation, and maintain the project accounting module in Oracle, including creating and maintaining projects and related task accounts.

Responsibilities :

• Fixed Asset Accounting
• Create and monitor controls, procedures, and forms for fixed assets.
• Recommend updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
• Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions.
• Create projects in Oracle and maintain task account codes.
• Track project costs and close out accounts upon project completion.
• Reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledger with general ledger.
• Calculate depreciation and asset retirement obligations.
• Review asset obsolescence and conduct fixed asset analyses.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist auditors.
• Report on capital projects monthly and track expenditures against budgets.

Intercompany and Intracompany Accounting

• Ensure accurate accounting of intercompany transactions and recoveries.

Process Improvements & Efficiencies

• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Evaluate and enhance accounting procedures.
• Collaborate on Oracle system configurations and reporting.
• Develop documentation for workflows and system upgrades.
• Support change management initiatives.
• Participate in initiatives to improve project tracking and asset management.

Skills & Qualifications :

• CPA designation is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Apps.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility, initiative, and teamwork ability.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize and present information clearly.
