We are currently looking for a highly skilled Accountant. Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant will help lead the accounting team in ensuring timely financial information is prepared and distributed in the organization.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist in month end closing and financial reporting processes including account analysis, cost analysis and reconciliation. Responsible for confidential and time sensitive material
  • Provide ongoing support, including vacation and sick day coverage, to other members of the accounting team including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Inventory
  • Daily cash reporting and bank reconciliation
  • Prepare, reconcile and file GST, PST, EHT and WCB.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and working papers.
  • Maintain fixed asset module, reconcile and post additions, depreciation and disposal.
  • Reconcile corporate credit card.
  • Data gathering, report compilation and data analysis using Excel and other software
  • Support other departments with reporting needs
  • Assist with managing master records in the ERP
  • Assist in special projects as required
  • Other duties and ad-hoc tasks as required

Work Environment

  • Onsite Office located in Abbotsford BC

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Post secondary education in accounting.
  • CPA designation or working towards it.
  • 1-3 years practical experience in general accounting and/or financial reporting, preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Planner), Dynamics Nav 365 ERP, Power BI, and or ADP would be considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to reconcile multiple data sources, and assess a set of data for variances.
  • Strong, clear and persuasive communication skills, both oral & written
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interface with all levels of management.
