What is the Opportunity?

RBC’s Special Loans & Advisory Services (SLAS) Group is looking for an Account Officer to join their team, supporting Senior Managers in its Commercial Markets team.

Reporting to the Regional Director, the Account Officer will serve as a first point of contact for Senior Managers and assists in the day-to-day management of the team administration, proactively creating capacity by adapting effective workflow systems & processes, and helping to facilitate transaction execution for the team.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for most operational and administrative management of client files
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of process in the on-boarding of new clients transferred from the field, reporting loan exposures and balances, and tracking cash flows related to write-off and recoveries
  • Act as the primary contact for Senior Managers with respect to non-lending service needs, helping to coordinate solutions with other areas of the Bank
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency with various Bank systems and approved credit structures, in line with Synergy CCRs
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting to Senior Managers and the Regional Director
  • Gather and prepare information/spreadsheets & material required by Senior Managers for reports, presentations, meetings, etc.
  • Manage general ledgers to ensure incoming payments / wires are allocated correctly and efficiently per instructions from Senior Managers
  • Exercise due diligence in the following of procedures relative to fraud prevention, account opening process, anti-money laundering etc. as outlined in folio instructions and guidelines
  • Correct data integrity as instructed by Senior Managers within established timeframe on exception reports produced on a monthly basis.Overall responsibility for integrity of records

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Self-driven with capability of managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to take ownership/responsibility for issues and follow them through to completion
  • Work with a sense of urgency as many requests require real time action to mitigate bank risk
  • Ability to problem solve. Attention to detail and superior organization skills will be necessary
  • Organizational awareness & familiarity with Bank systems (OLBB, Synergy, Sales Platform, CART, etc.)

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in the Business Service Centre (e.g. Liability, CTM, etc.)
  • Experience in Capital Markets Global Loan Administration or CCMS is an asset
  • Proficiency with technology i.e. Microsoft Excel, and other Office products
  • Proficiency with RBC bank systems and ability to navigate through them; or a high aptitude to learn new systems
