Job description

Cowan Insurance Group is looking for an Account Manager to join our Personal Insurance Client Retention team! This successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager, Personal Insurance. You will provide exceptional service to our Personal Insurance customers and insurance markets by servicing and maintaining the existing portfolio as well as pursuing new business. You are knowledgeable in personal insurance policies coverages and products. You are a strong communicator, self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment.

What You Will Do

  • You will respond and provide guidance and advice to policyholders through customer calls and emails inquiries
  • Complete coverage reviews and recommendations and address client concerns
  • Document client discussions in our Broker Management system (EPIC)
  • Adhere to customer service standards and proper use of activity codes in EPIC and labeling procedures to ensure files are complete
  • Take a client centric and consultative approach to provide solutions that add value to our customers
  • Contribute to department sales goals through account rounding (upselling) and referrals while maintaining client retention and relationship, in accordance with department standards
  • Be a member of a specialized team dedicated to client retention by reviewing renewal coverage and premium options and presenting renewal remarketing options to policyholders

What You Will Bring

  • RIBO or OTL license required
  • 2+ years of personal insurance experience
  • Strong customer service and caring attitude
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, excelling in areas of negotiation
  • Demonstrates sound judgement, ethics and integrity
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products
  • Exceptional organization skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • CAIB or CIP designation (or working towards) would be an asset
  • The position expectation is to be in the office for the first 1-2 months.
