PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The primary responsibility for the Account Manager role is to sell plastic resins, support existing accounts, and continuously expand the customer base.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Achieve profitable revenue growth, including robust new business development.
  2. Achieve stated gross margin targets as a percentage of sales.
  3. Approach the sales process with a high degree of professionalism and effectiveness by successfully utilizing customer-centric selling skills.
  4. Prospecting & new account calls, development of a robust target funnel.
  5. Establish, track, and close new business targets consistent with long-term growth objectives.
  6. Work both directly and cooperatively with channel partners to close business based on customer's purchasing requirements.
  7. Create and maintain CRM data and sales statistics as required.
  8. Work with Technical and Customer Service teams to ensure customer requirements and satisfaction are met.
  9. Proven ability to interact effectively at all levels of the customer and with all of the customer's functional groups.

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

  1. Complex thinking skills in translating customer needs into solutions.
  2. Technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  3. Professional presence, including excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  4. Broad knowledge of solutions, materials, and processing.
  5. Self-motivated and able to work autonomously on a day-to-day basis.
  6. Team player.
  7. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  8. Strong organizational skills required.
  9. Minimal training and oversight required.
  10. Able to travel as required. Expected travel is 50-70%.
  11. Strong computer skills, proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  12. Three years of exposure in B2B, face-to-face sales, preferably in industrial or commodity sales.
  13. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required.
