If you are a sales professional, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! The Account Manager - Northern Alberta is an excellent opportunity to grow with Emerson Discrete Automation – Appleton Group Canada. Based in our Western Region, you will be responsible for sales in the territory of Northern Alberta, Canada. Appleton is a leading manufacturer of electrical apparatus and LED lighting products for industrial and hazardous locations. Reporting to the Western Regional Sales Manager, you will work to grow market share by promoting Appleton products to major end users, electrical contractors, and through established distribution channels in the electrical industry.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform account management responsibilities for all accounts in the territory, maintaining communication with key distribution, end users, OEMs, electrical contractors, representatives, and plant employees to build long-term relationships.
  2. Increase sales through sales agents and distribution channels, developing demand at major end users, electrical contractors, and OEM accounts; establish product specifications and sales at major projects, retrofits, MRO, and temporary power business.
  3. Target engineering firms and international accounts to support sales strategies and drive export products requiring global certifications.
  4. Implement sales and marketing programs as advised by head office; develop strategic business plans and forecasts for existing and new products.
  5. Utilize customer service support and management resources to ensure success, verify pricing, and work within the company's pricing and distributor appointment policies.
  6. Serve as a technical field representative, handling claims and adjustments as needed.
  7. Provide product training for sales reps, engineering firms, distributors, OEMs, electrical contractors, and end users.
Who You Are:

You understand customer needs, build solutions that meet expectations, and maintain effective relationships. You identify and seize new opportunities, handle tough issues with a positive attitude, and pursue goals with energy and drive. You negotiate skillfully and find common ground to satisfy multiple partners.

Requirements:
  • Post-secondary technical education in the electrical field or proven sales experience.
  • Understanding of selling through electrical distribution, product specifications, applications, IEC standards, and global certifications.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time within the territory and to head office, including overnight stays and quarterly meetings.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada; sponsorship not provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Electrical Engineer, Technologist, or equivalent education in Business, Marketing, or Sales.
  • Technical expertise in the electrical field; CET or Journeyman Electrician background is an asset.
  • Experience in industrial electrical product sales.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
