About the Role:

Dr. Squatch is searching for an Account Manager to assist with the management of our growing Canadian Retail Business. This role will manage the day-to-day customer needs of National and Regional Grocery, Natural and Whitespace Canadian retailers through managing and collaborating with a network of brokers to achieve growth targets. This role will work cross-functionally with our Operations, Product, and Marketing teams to drive activities to support these retail customers.

This role will report to the Lead of Retail for Canada.

This role will be based in or near Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $USD $100,000 - $115,000. The role is eligible for a bonus program. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retailer partners, wholesalers, and distributors to grow Dr. Squatch’s presence as an omnichannel brand.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, shopper marketing, and promotional opportunities.
  • Manage broker teams through strong leadership, clear communication, and prompt feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Canada Retail Sales to develop tactical plans to encourage trial, market share growth, and household penetration through retail channels.
  • Present business reviews internally to drive direction and strategic investment across Canada including category trends, competitive activity, and consumer insights.
  • Fully own P&L for grocery, natural and whitespace accounts to achieve profitability and revenue targets and develop strategy for trade promotions & customer spending by account.
  • Own the development and presentation of sales line reviews, internal/external business reviews, promotional strategy/cadence, and retail insights.
  • Manage gap closing initiatives with retail and broker partners through Ad hoc analysis and internal alignment for growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Dr. Squatch product, operations, and marketing teams to ensure all new item launches and initiatives are flawlessly executed in your accounts.
  • Own forecasting/actualization of spend, sell-in, and sell-out for all managed retailers.
  • Own the development and presentation of sales line reviews, internal/external business reviews, promotional strategy/cadence, and retail insights.
  • Provide key inputs for account-specific demand planning.

About You:

  • 5-8 years of Sales, Business Development, or Account Management background in CPG - preference for prior category experience in personal care or wellness selling Natural Products into traditional Retail
  • Proven selling and negotiation skills
  • Strong relationships or prior experience working with tier 1 Grocery, Drug, Mass, and Natural retailers in Canada or the UK
  • Proven success in achieving aggressive sales goals
  • Prior experience managing multiple brokers or direct reports
  • Deep understanding of the Canadian retail landscape and what best-in-class account management looks like
  • Ability to travel when necessary
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives at the same time
  • Excellent communication and selling skills
  • Experience working in the consumer products industry in mass and/or grocery channels in Canada is highly preferred
  • Someone who gets things done without perfect resources is innovative and works with a sense of urgency
  • Someone who has high standards takes ownership and is invested in the outcome
  • Someone who proactively helps others stays positive and has a good sense of humor
  • A solid understanding of Syndicated retail data and Customer POS data with an ability to draw conclusions and create brand stories to sell in to customers
  • Ability to bring insight to action – use data to understand issue and opportunity and come up with creative ways to accelerate growth
