Job description

North American commodity chemical marketer / distributor is looking to fill an Account Manager position based in the Edmonton, AB area. Calgary is also a good location for this. The position is focused on selling bulk (tank wagons) of Sulfuric Acid throughout Western Canada. The position is home-based, and the territory is mainly Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing and entrepreneurial chemical company. The income opportunity is solid, and there are opportunities for advancement in the future. The overnight travel should be ~25%.

Responsibilities : Sell bulk Sulfuric Acid to multiple end use markets, largely to pulp & paper, energy, chemical manufacturing, and water treatment applications, throughout the region. Sell truckload volumes for the most part on a commercial level. Manage all existing business. Prospect for and develop new accounts and new business opportunities. There will also be some sales to manage thru local distributors. Manage the territory sales strategy. Communicate effectively with management. Travel overnight as needed.

Requirements : 3+ years of chemical industry sales experience. Prefer commodity chemical experience with a producer or distributor. A Bachelors Degree is required, but the concentration is open. Strong sales skills, excellent communication skills, team player, a high level of self-motivation & drive. A good marketplace understanding of all the players and supply chain. Ability to grasp the big picture of the territory. Solid computer skills.

Compensation : Base : C$90,000 - C$110,000 commensurate with experience. Annual Bonus; 15% - 25% of base salary is a realistic range.
