Your diverse role is vital to servicing and meeting our customers' needs. In collaboration with our Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver teams, you will build relationships with our customers, manage orders and inventory requirements, analyze/forecast sales data, and perform other related responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

BUDGETARY

  • Prepare an annual personal sales budget plan along with updated quarterly forecasts for their selected group of accounts, including seeking strategic sales opportunities
  • Meet sales budgets and monthly sales targets, providing reports as required
  • Assist Accounting in seeking credit approval on new accounts along with credit monitoring for the roster of accounts (ensuring accounts are all within terms)

ACCOUNTS

  • Source new accounts through a disciplined sales approach by identifying qualified leads, evaluating their position in the market, regular visitations in designated areas, etc.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management
  • Maintain good communications with other FDPG Sales and Buying teams to ensure the smooth running of their accounts
  • Assist other Account Managers with their accounts during their vacations and other absence
STRATEGIES
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and activities with the Alberta Sales Manager to grow regional sales
  • Negotiate price with accounts by having a keen awareness of market pricing, supply, and quality of produce items at all times (to protect the dynamics between both margins and volume sales)
  • Recommend changes in products, services, and policies by monitoring, reporting, and evaluating results, market, and competitive developments

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Min 2 years experience in hunting and building new accounts
  • Fresh produce knowledge and industry experience preferred
  • Solid knowledge of sales and logistics functions
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Solid data analysis and reporting skills and proficiency in MS Office
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Second language is an asset
