Job description

When you walk or log in to an Adeptus Marketing meeting (your choice!), you’re met with smiles and compassion. People care about you here. The work is fun and exciting. It’s challenging and rewarding. There’s no place like it.

Our agency is growing (again, wow!). Maybe it’s because of all the good vibes and caring we put out into the universe. Or maybe it’s because we’re really good at what we do. Either way, we’re looking for another Account Manager to join our team in a part-time contractor role.

Please note, this isn’t a "sit in your desk, we now own you for 40 hours a week" type of thing. You can expect to bill for ~20-30 hours a week, managing your workload and schedule like the adult you are. With that being said, no, you can’t moonlight as an Account Manager while working full-time elsewhere. Most of your meetings and communication with the rest of the team will happen during regular work hours. So let's nip that in the bud right now.

Want to start at 6 am? Great. Need to leave at 3:30 to coach soccer? Sure! Can’t work Thursdays but can work into the evenings on Tuesdays? Fantastic. We just need you to be available during most of a regular 9-5 workday/workweek to meet with clients and work with our internal team. But you’re an adult, so you can manage that.

As an Account Manager, you’re the linchpin to our entire operation. Without you, we can’t make magic happen. You’re the liaison between the client, our creative team, and any other partners a project may call for. You keep the wheels on while we’re going 100km/hr. You turn chaos into order the rest of the team can follow. You are a mallard duck: you appear calm and composed on the surface while your efficient, powerful feet paddle quickly below the surface.

You’re a natural at building strong relationships with your client and team. You’re organized and on top of things, love a good spreadsheet, and can juggle multiple projects at once.

What we offer you

  • Autonomy, trust, and some control over your schedule. Most of our work happens during regular business hours. You can’t work from 4 am – 8 am and be done every day. There are a few meetings set in relative stone (though if you have to miss one, we’ll take notes so you can catch up later), but generally speaking, you set your own schedule. Some like to start as the sun rises. Some burn the midnight oil. Others stick to 9-5 and take the occasional afternoon off. I mean, who really likes working Friday afternoons in the summer, right?
  • Your input matters. Tired of waiting for your boss to check with their boss’s boss? Feeling unappreciated and unheard? None of that here. With our horizontal organizational structure, you have a lot of freedom, responsibilities, and opportunities to flourish. We’re a team that unabashedly asks for and offers help to one another. We want to hear your input and ideas. In fact, we’ll ask you for them every week.
  • Work where you want. We offered a hybrid work environment before it was cool. All Adeptus team members can work where they want (we do require you’re in or around Regina, and able to attend some in-person meetings). Want to work from home? Great. Get cozy and skip the commute. Love to be around people? Awesome - head on into Path Cowork as often as you please. The coffee is great, and the people are even better. Our team tries to make it a priority to work together in person on Wednesdays and get together as a whole team from time to time to eat a good meal and make eye contact in real life.
  • Opportunity to flourish. We want to be the most sought-after marketing agency in North America. And we want you to be the best you can be, too. We can reach both of these goals only by sticking to our mission of helping everyone we work with flourish. This is a big part of why we choose our clients. We see our clients as partners, and if their values don’t align with ours, we don’t work with them. Because no one flourishes when it’s not a good fit. We do not go into emotional debt at work. You can be happy here.

What you offer us

  • Experience. You’ve managed client-based projects and accounts. Maybe in marketing, or maybe in some other industry. Either way, you’re used to making client communication a top priority and have no problem holding others accountable. You’re organized and find joy in putting tasks and projects into project management software. Crisp, clean charts and schedules excite you.
  • Problem solving. We pride ourselves on hiring problem solvers. You see something broken and offer a solution as to how to fix it. Or, better yet, you just go right on ahead and fix it yourself, letting the team know what was wrong and what you did to solve it. And solving problems is great, but preventing them is even better. That’s why you err on the side of overcommunication and enjoy frequent check-ins with your team.
  • Ability to prioritize. This is a big one. Our Account Managers are excellent jugglers. Every Monday, we get together as a team to discuss the hot projects for the week. Deadlines approach quicker than we think, projects change, and new projects spring up unannounced. We need you to help lead us through it all. You can work with the creative team to decide what work needs to be done today and what can wait until Wednesday. Juggling and prioritizing a long list of to-dos is as familiar to you as brushing your teeth.
  • Kindness and maturity. In addition to problem solvers, we also only hire adults. Like, grown-ups. People who do what they say and get their work done. Picture a Venn diagram. The blue circle on the left represents people who solve problems. The red circle on the right represents people who are kind, mature, and get their work done. Only those select few who fall in that narrow purple section where the circles intersect can work for Adeptus Marketing. Sorry, not sorry.
