Job summary

Manulife Financial is seeking an Account Executive – Canada Retirement to drive growth in the Group Retirement business across Canadian markets. You will build strong advisor and plan sponsor relationships, promote retirement solutions, and deliver consultative support aligned with sponsor needs.

The role leads new business development, manages RFPs, and collaborates across internal partners to deliver a seamless end-to-end experience from prospecting through onboarding and ongoing relationship

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial services sales, business development, relationship management, or consulting.
  • Experience in group retirement, workplace savings, pensions, investments, wealth management, or employee benefits.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business, managing complex sales opportunities, and delivering presentations to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of retirement and savings solutions, including Defined Contribution plans, Group RRSPs, DPSPs, and TFSAs, as well as the Canadian pension and regulatory environment.
  • Proven consultative selling, relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify opportunities, develop sales strategies, and navigate competitive situations.
  • Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasting, and CRM tools such as Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to ethical selling, inclusion, and continuous learning.
  • Industry designations (CSC, IFIC, CIM, CFP, RRC, or equivalent) and bilingual English/French capabilities are assets.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within Canada.

Job description

The Account Executive – Canada Retirement is an external sales role responsible for driving growth in Manulife’s Group Retirement business across assigned Canadian markets. This role focuses on building strong advisor and plan sponsor relationships, promoting the value of Manulife’s retirement solutions, and delivering consultative support that aligns with sponsor and advisor needs.


This role is responsible for developing and managing a disciplined sales pipeline, leading new business development activities (including RFP responses and finalist presentations), and collaborating closely with internal partners to deliver a seamless experience from prospecting through onboarding and ongoing relationship management. Success in this role requires strong business acumen in the retirement industry, a consultative sales approach, and the ability to translate complex retirement concepts into clear business value.


The role is designed for a sales professional who demonstrates ownership of territory outcomes, leverages data and market intelligence, and consistently reinforces Manulife’s value proposition through ethical, customer-focused selling.


Position Responsibilities:

New Business Development


  • Develop and execute a territory strategy to achieve sales and growth objectives.


  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective retirement plan opportunities.
