Product of the Year is the world’s largest consumer-voted award for product innovation. Established over 30 years ago, POY currently operates in over 42 countries with the same purpose: Guide consumers to the best products in their market and reward manufacturers for quality and innovation. Product of the Year winners are backed by the votes of 4,000 consumers in a national representative study conducted by research partner Kantar, a global leader in consumer research. The award is a powerful merchandising program for marketers, proven to increase product sales, distribution and brand awareness. Winners are announced at an awards show (in February) each year and receive the right to use the Product of the Year logo in their own marketing communications and packaging for two years. Winners also benefit from inclusion in Product of the Year’s own robust PR & marketing campaign with national and regional media integrations.
About the Role:
We’re looking for an Account Executive who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You’re a self-starter who knows how to hustle, build relationships, and drive results. This is a high-impact B2B sales role—focused on growing our footprint with CPG brands across food, beverage, tech, health, beauty, and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Drive new business and grow existing accounts with consumer-facing brands
Prospect creatively and persistently—identify leads, pitch them, and bring them in
Be the face of Product of the Year to your clients—nurture long-term relationships
Serve as the post-sale point of contact, working closely with internal teams to execute campaigns
Forecast and report on sales pipeline with accuracy and confidence
Lead client calls, presentations, and trade show conversations with ease and professionalism
Attend industry events to prospect, network, and promote our brand
Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and digital teams to deliver best-in-class client results
Meet and exceed annual revenue goals while keeping churn low and customer satisfaction high
3+ years in sales, ideally B2B or CPG-focused (cold calling doesn’t scare you—it excites you)
A proven history of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Deep curiosity and passion for what’s new and next in food, tech, health, and beauty
Self-motivated with a strong inner drive—you don’t wait for opportunity, you make it
Assertive, resourceful, and independent—but also a true team player
Experience building a pipeline, prospecting effectively, and managing multiple deals at once
Background in marketing, PR, digital media, or content creation is a plus
Proficiency with Google Docs or Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Confidence in both live and virtual presentations
High emotional intelligence and adaptability—you know how to build trust fast
Experience with CRM platforms (Launchpad experience is a plus)
Travel to client meetings and local industry events and 2-3 times per year for key events across Canada.
Bachelor’s degree required
