Qualifications

Rapid City Transportation / b Autolux Ltd. has been specializing in non-emergency medical transportation logistics services for over 20 years, supporting all of Ontario. We offer professional, courteous door-to-door concierge-style transportation for individuals requiring special care—before, during, and after their transfers.

Why work at RCT?

  • Drivers are provided with a company vehicle and a company-paid smartphone, with all expenses including insurance, maintenance, and gas during business use covered. Vehicles are late-model sedans, minivans, and wheelchair-accessible vans.
  • Drivers are paid door-to-door, which is inclusive of all travel and wait time to/from passenger trips.

  • Participate in recognition programs, service awards, and other celebrations.
  • Transport passengers in wheelchair-accessible side-loading vans, minivans, or sedans to pre-approved destinations safely, following all road safety rules.
  • Drivers typically work Monday to Friday, potentially up to 11 hours/day, with a maximum of 14 hours/day. A typical week could be up to 40 hours ($660/week), up to a maximum of 60 hours ($990/week).
  • Weekend trips are available on a volunteering basis for additional hours. Drivers must be comfortable driving during hours past dusk.
  • Focus on providing safe, calm, and reliable transportation using customer service, communication, and defensive driving skills.
  • Assist passengers with luggage, boarding and disembarking, seat belts, and other needs as required.
  • Communicate in real time with the Dispatch Department and navigate within company systems daily.

Position Qualifications

  • At least ten (10) years of driving experience with a valid G Driver’s License. Ability to provide a driver's abstract in good standing.
  • Good overall physical health and ability to provide a medical note. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Preferably a non-smoker due to transporting individuals with medical conditions impacted by scents.
  • Ability to comfortably wear a mask and work with sanitizing products, especially during infectious disease pandemics.
  • Ability to provide a current police check, including a vulnerable sector search, upon joining the company and as requested.
  • Hold a valid CPR Certificate. The company will pay for renewal during active employment.
  • Ability to drive for long periods depending on the trip.
  • Comfortably navigate an Android smartphone and operate GPS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of the regional geographic area and the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to assess passenger needs, especially for those with physical limitations, and provide assistance as needed.
  • Private location to safely store the company-provided vehicle when not on duty.
