Position Details

Status: Various Regular Part-Time Positions

Location: onsite at 2 Copper Road, Brampton, and 3190 Mavis Road, Mississauga

Hours: Up to 30 hours per week, including day, evening, holiday, and weekend shifts

Compensation: Start Rate: $30.23, Job Rate: $31.86

Role Overview

As an Accessible Transit Bus Driver, you will empower residents with disabilities by providing safe, reliable transportation that enhances their independence. Your role involves assisting passengers, ensuring safety, and delivering excellent customer service daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete and log circle checks at shift start and end, report mechanical issues
• Use AVL system and communicate with dispatch
• Interpret schedules, plan routes, assist passengers, secure mobility aids
• Drive courteously, follow policies, and ensure safety

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Vehicle Operator's Permit (Class B, C, E, or F; Z endorsement preferred)
• Good driving record (driver abstract required)
• High school diploma or equivalent; 6 months related experience
• Experience in accessibility is an asset
• Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
• Physical ability to perform duties (pulling, pushing, bending)
• Ability to respond to emergencies independently
• First Aid, CPR, defensive driving training preferred
• Good map-reading skills
• Complete TransHelp Driver Operator training during probation
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Search
