Office of the Provost & Vice President Academic

The Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic is responsible for all academic matters at the University of New Brunswick's two main campuses in Fredericton and Saint John, as well as the Moncton site. It drives the academic mission of the University toward the strategic goals of the Toward 2030 Strategic Plan. The Provost and Vice-President Academic oversees and leads the university-wide activities of the three Vice-Provost Offices and Deans.

WHAT WE OFFER

Full-time 1-year Term position based in Fredericton or Saint John Campus, with hybrid or on-campus work options.

Standard Work Hours : Mon - Fri 7:45 am - 4:00 pm (Summer Hours) / Mon - Fri 8:15 am - 4:30 pm (Winter Hours), totaling 36.25 hours per week.

Salary Range : $65,069 - $88,681 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Senior Executive Officer and Advisor, this position plays a key role in developing, coordinating, prioritizing, shaping, and executing projects across the academic portfolio.

  • Manage large-scale projects, maintaining detailed project plans including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Facilitate and guide project teams, managing team dynamics and fostering collaboration and motivation.
  • Identify stakeholders, communicate regularly, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risks; maintain comprehensive project documentation and communicate progress through presentations.
  • Conduct research, best practice reviews, and data collection; prepare progress reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Lead working groups within the Office of the Provost and across the institution to research developments and implement innovations and best practices.
  • Manage expenses, reimbursements, invoices, and payments related to projects and events, ensuring financial compliance and accountability.
  • Coordinate project-related events, including launches, communication milestones, and wrap-up sessions.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Undergraduate degree with coursework and experience in project management and/or public relations.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing projects in a professional office setting.
