A university-based healthcare provider in Halifax is seeking a Cardiac Surgeon to educate medical students and residents, provide clinical care, and engage in leadership development. Candidates must be certified in Cardiac Surgery and eligible for licensure in Nova Scotia. This full-time position emphasizes a collaborative environment and contributions to healthcare excellence.
The successful candidate will join 10 other surgical specialists in our university-based academic clinical practice. The Attending is expected to play an active educator role in the education of undergraduate medical students, residents and fellows of the Division of Cardiac Surgery and nursing staff (e.g., simulator training) of the ICU. The successful applicant will report to the Head of the Division of Cardiac Surgery. We value maintaining a working environment that is optimal for the delivery of excellent health care and the successful hire will actively engage in personal coaching/leadership training. Compensation is through participation in the Dalhousie University Department of Surgery Academic Funding Plan (AFP).
