Job summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking an A/C Mechanic located at McMaster University Medical Centre. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, you will maintain, repair, install and operate air conditioning units and equipment across HHS sites.

Qualified candidates hold Ontario Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Certification, Ontario "Ozone Depletion" certificate, and a minimum of five years as a tradesperson; you will work Monday to Friday days and support hospital facilities

Qualifications

• Current Province of Ontario Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Certificate of Qualification
• Must hold a Province of Ontario "Ozone Depletion" certificate
• Minimum of five years as a qualified Tradesperson
• Demonstrated experience in the maintenance, repair and installation of all types of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment
• Demonstrated ability to use the tools and equipment of the trade
• Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Demonstrated ability to bend, crawl, lift heavy items, climb and work from ladders and scaffolding
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in areas that are cold, hot, dusty, dirty, noisy, amongst machinery, at elevated levels and have cramped quarters
• Must be willing to provide own hand tools of the trade
• Gas Fitter II License preferred
• Sheet metal experience is an asset

Position Summary
