NeuroTech X is seeking a Team Lead for its Alberta Neuroscience (ABNeuro) initiative. This part-time role involves managing operations and diverse initiatives in neurology while engaging with high-level stakeholders. TheAlberta Neuroscience (ABNeuro)in theCumming School of Medicineinvites applications for aTeam Lead. This Part-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 1 year (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
Alberta Neuroscience (ABNeuro) (Previously Campus Alberta Neuroscience (CAN)) was established by the Alberta neuroscience community in 2012 with support from the Government of Alberta to accelerate understanding of the brain, improve brain health through collaboration, develop the province as a centre of neuroscience excellence, and improve quality of life in Alberta and beyond.
When ABNeuro was founded, the goal was to connect the Calgary’s Hotchkiss Brain Institute (HBI), Lethbridge’s Canadian Centre for Behavioral Neuroscience (CCBN), and Edmonton’s Neuroscience and Mental Health Institute (NMHI). Since then, we have expanded beyond our 3 founding partner universities to all the universities, colleges, and polytechnics in Alberta who are involved in Neuroscience and Mental Health research and innovation.
This position is provincial in scope, reports to the Chair of the ABNeuro Advisory Committee, and can be based anywhere in Albera. The ABNeuro Lead is responsible for the successful leadership, overall management, and operations of ABNeuro and its diverse initiatives, including in computational neuroscience, pain, opioids and cannabis, healthy brain aging and dementia, MS, spinal cord injury, mental health, and neuroimaging. This requires working closely with a multitude of high-level stakeholders in academia, including faculty, students, and staff of three universities, affiliated government bodies, healthcare, industry, and the community to realize the vision of ABNeuro.
This role can be based anywhere in Alberta and is eligible for the UofC Hybrid program.
