AB Law Clerk (Mississauga)

Job description

Our client is a busy full-service law firm covering the GTA with offices in both downtown Toronto and Mississauga. They are currently expanding and looking to add an experienced personal injury clerk to the team.

Your new role

In this role, you will be responsible for independently managing and carrying Accident Benefits & Tort files from file opening to closing. You must have experience with preparing and assembling documents like Affidavit of Documents, Medical Briefs, and Notice of Examinations. You must also have basic drafting skills to prepare rough or first drafts of documents like slip and fall Statement of Claims, motor vehicle Statement of Claims, and simple Motions like Motions to add parties and for substitute service. Additional responsibilities will include scheduling, obtaining, organizing and serving productions, client communications, and general support for counsel.

What you will need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 5 years of Personal Injury experience with an emphasis on AB & Tort. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to draft correspondence and legal documents, schedule meetings, and communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other professionals. You must be knowledgeable with preparing LAT Applications and Case Conference Summaries. A law clerk diploma from a recognized institution will be an asset.
