A&R Operations Coordinator – 12 Month Contract

The UMC team works four days a week from our creative campus in Liberty Village, Toronto, with one day remote.

Reporting to the Manager, A&R Administration, the A&R Operations Coordinator will support the A&R department's operations. Experience in the music industry is preferred.

How You’ll LEAD:
  1. Support the team by executing A&R operational processes and enforcing best practices.
  2. Assist A&Rs with asset deliverables, including audio files from producers, mixers, and mastering engineers.
  3. Maintain UMC’s internal asset file management systems.
  4. Work with A&Rs to gather and verify metadata and label copy for physical and digital releases.
  5. Quality control all audio and upload final audio to the UMG supply chain for distribution.
  6. Coordinate internal scheduling, transitioning releases from A&R to production, ensuring timelines are met.
  7. Communicate with internal departments on deliverable status.
  8. Handle payments and vendor setup as assigned.
  9. Input metadata into UMC’s repertoire management system as needed.
  10. Assist with special projects.
What You BRING:
  1. 1-3 years of experience in the music entertainment industry.
  2. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Independence, initiative, problem-solving skills.
  4. Post-secondary degree or diploma in music, media, or entertainment.
  5. Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  6. Knowledge of current music trends and recording processes.
  7. Experience with audio editing software.
  8. Personal qualities: honest, entrepreneurial, friendly, approachable, energetic, ambitious, creative, positive, passionate, competitive, opinionated, knowledgeable, open-minded, and communicative.
