The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George seeks a motivated 9-1-1 Communications Program Manager to oversee the Call-Answer Centre's operations. The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG) is one of 27 regional districts in BC. We are a local government that provides governance and delivers a wide range of services to people living in seven electoral areas and four member municipalities that include, the City of Prince George, the District of Mackenzie, and the Villages of McBride and Valemount. Our administrative office is in Prince George, in North Central, BC on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation.
The Regional District has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, self-starting and energetic individual to join the Public Safety Services Department as the 9-1-1 Communications Program Manager. This is an exempt position and the Manager directly supervises, assigns work, and monitors the performance of direct reports.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORK
The 9-1-1 Communications Program Manager is responsible for the creation and overall direction, supervision, and administration of the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George's 9-1-1 Communications Call-Answer Centre (FFG911) program. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Public Safety Services.
The 9-1-1 Communications Program Manager is responsible for the scheduling and supervision of a team of public safety telecommunicators. The Program Manager is responsible for liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, public sector service partners, and the public. This role requires thorough knowledge of 9-1-1 communication practices and may be exposed to emotionally charged, high-stress situations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing program development and management, from inception to completion, ensuring that all deliverables are met within scope, budget, and time frame.
The incumbent will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and will have a proven track record of successfully managing a team in high stress environments. After-hours and on-call work will be required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
POSITION COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $110,000 (2024 rate) and will be commensurate with education and years of experience.
