Job description

Westshore Secondary - Colwood / Sooke Campus

Position: .8 TERM Teacher Counsellor (Tuesday to Friday - All day). Effective February 11, 2025, to June 30, 2025, or the return of the incumbent whichever is earlier, in whole or in part.

Position Description:

The position is based at the Colwood campus and supports students in person at both campuses (Colwood and Sooke). The position is responsible for caring for and supporting "at promise" students who may have significant mental health barriers, trauma, and addiction.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or Post Degree Program in Education (Secondary)
  2. Master of Education in Counselling

Position Requirements:

  1. Understanding of Ministry of Education and Child Care's Graduation Program including course selection and graduation requirements
  2. Knowledge of career planning and post-secondary academic preparation
  3. Use of MyEd SIS to build student schedules, perform transcript verification, review/extract student data
  4. Access to transportation to commute between campuses as required

Salary: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $58,635 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
