Job summary

A leading company is seeking a resource experienced in the technical design and administration of Microsoft server environments and Azure Cloud. The candidate will handle VMware environments, including support, documentation, and troubleshooting. The role requires on-site work at SaskEnergy Head Office in Regina and offers an all-inclusive hourly rate with a contract extending through March 2026, depending on needs.

Job description

Ideally, the resource will have the following relevant skills and experience:

  • Proven competency in the technical design, implementation, and administration of Microsoft on-premises server environments and Azure cloud environments (Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy administration).
  • Proven competency in technical support within VMware environments, including VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon.
  • Proven competency with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) administration.
  • Experience in influencing and establishing collaboration within an organization.
  • Understanding of enterprise-level on-premises server and cloud architecture.
  • Understanding of integrations between on-premises environments and the cloud.
  • Relevant job experience in North America.

The preferred candidate will also have experience in:

  • Implementation, documentation, administration, and troubleshooting of enterprise server environments.
  • Planning for development and installation of servers and storage based on current and future needs.
  • Providing expert technical design, implementation, and administration of Microsoft on-premises Server and Azure cloud environments.
  • Supporting VMware environments, including vSphere and Horizon.
  • Monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ensuring system availability.
  • Managing disaster recovery plans, implementation, maintenance, and testing.
  • Managing configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of servers and infrastructure.
  • Interacting with users regarding technology issues and escalations.
  • Participating in server patch management processes.
  • Maintaining system integrity through change control and problem management.

The start date is preferably as soon as possible. The initial contract will conclude on March 31, 2026, with potential extension based on SaskEnergy's needs and the terms of the TMSA. The role requires working on-site at SaskEnergy Head Office in Regina, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm CST, with an all-inclusive hourly rate. On-call availability may be required. The candidate must follow SOPs, participate in team meetings, and represent the Networks & Infrastructure department, with proven competency in server, storage, and cloud storage security best practices.
