Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders, or an equivalent Masters Degree.
  • Eligible for certification by the Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists.

Task Dimensions:

  • Implement and administer policies related to speech-language pathology, including supporting the Guidelines for the Provision of Speech-Language Pathology Services and the SSRCE Special Education Policy.
  • Collaborate with schools, regional entities, and community service providers to deliver programming and services for children and youth.
  • Support program planning teams in linking assessment and instructional practices.
  • Provide training related to speech-language pathology contributions to student programming.
  • Recommend courses of action regarding speech-language pathology and related services.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, research studies, and conduct consultations.
  • Represent the SSRCE on committees, working groups, and interdepartmental initiatives.
  • Review, research, compile reports, and prepare correspondence as needed.
  • Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
