The Opportunity
We’re looking for someone who can complete Banff Centre training within a prescribed timeframe to attain an Engineer 5th class certification. Financial assistance may be available as per Banff Centre learning agreement guidelines. The ideal candidate will have an interest and aptitude in mechanical systems to join our team of experienced tradespeople.
The 5th class power engineer (Building Operator B) is a key member of the Physical Facilities department, responsible for maintaining campus operations. This role oversees the running and maintenance of pumps, motors, fans, air filters, and other equipment related to heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Responsibilities include identifying repairs or replacements, maintaining maintenance records, preparing defect reports, sourcing parts, and performing water testing and chemical treatments outside the main plant. Tasks and locations vary daily, requiring prioritization and efficiency.
