This position is ideal for a teacher who loves truth, delights in discipling young minds and hearts, and is excited to contribute to the foundational years of a growing classical Christian school. As our school begins its journey, this upper grammar-stage role will help prepare students for the transition into logic-stage learning with depth, structure, and joy.

About Coram Deo School:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a combined class of 5th and 6th grade students in core subjects including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, math, Bible, Latin, and history
  • Prepare students for the logic stage by developing habits of attention, clear thinking, articulate expression, and moral reflection
  • Integrate a Biblical worldview into all subject matter and model joyful obedience to Christ
  • Balance the distinct developmental needs of both grade levels within one classroom setting
  • Establish a culture of wonder, respect, and academic excellence
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with families in support of their child’s discipleship
  • Collaborate with fellow faculty on curriculum planning and contribute to the life and rhythms of a startup school
  • Engage in regular faculty fellowship, prayer, and professional development in classical Christian pedagogy

Qualifications:

  • A vibrant and growing Christian faith and agreement with the school’s doctrinal statement
  • A love for discipling students at the upper grammar stage (ages 10–12)
  • Bachelor’s degree required (liberal arts, education, or humanities focus preferred)
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills; able to balance rigor with warmth
  • Eagerness to be part of a collaborative, flexible team in a startup setting
  • Membership in a local, Bible-believing church

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching in a multi-age or combined classroom
  • Familiarity with classical Christian education and the Trivium (particularly the transition from grammar to logic stages)
