Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a 4th Class Power Engineer for Maintenance and Operations at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. The role reports to the Chief Engineer and covers the facility's infrastructure, boiler systems, and associated equipment.

We value independence, knowledge of NS regulations and CSA/ASME codes, and the ability to travel to other sites as needed. This permanent full-time position requires 75 hours biweekly.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Engineer and/or Assistant Manager, the 4th Class Engineer troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs facility infrastructure equipment and carries out maintenance and repair work as directed by the Chief or their designate. This position is responsible for all building operations and maintenance aspects of the facility infrastructure, and the operation and monitoring of the boiler and all associated systems and equipment following the Nova Scotia Boiler & Pressure Equipment Regulations. This position may be required to complete general maintenance tasks as required throughout the facility. In special circumstances where approved. This position may be required to temporarily perform duties of a position with a higher-class Power engineer license to ensure coverage. Travel within the zone or other zones as needed. Other duties as required.

Hours

• Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

$31.75 - $32.29 Hourly
