Job summary

Edon Management is seeking a Full-Time 4th Class Power Engineer to join our Alberta operations in Calgary. You will manage daily building operations, monitor HVAC, electrical, and life-safety systems, and respond to tenant needs while on a rotating on-call schedule.

Ideal candidates hold a valid 4th Class Power Engineering certificate, demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills, and are comfortable using Office 365 and Power BI on occasion.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid 4th Class Power Engineering certificate.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, building automation and life-safety systems.
  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Exposure to Office 365 and Power BI is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily building operations tasks including maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and security systems and troubleshoot issues.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance tasks conducted by subcontractors (e.g., fire alarm inspections).
  • Conduct regular equipment checks and identify abnormalities or inefficiencies.
  • Respond to tenant service requests and emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule with the team.

What will you do?
  • Perform daily building operations tasks like building maintenance and building repairs
  • Monitor the performance of heating (heating plant capacity may vary), electrical, mechanical, and security systems and trouble shoot problems if required
  • Monitor certain preventive maintenance requirements that are completed by a qualified subcontractor (e.g., fire alarm inspections, backflow preventer inspections, annual chiller preventive maintenance)
  • Conduct regular building equipment checks/inspections and identify abnormalities or inefficiencies
  • Respond to tenant service requests and emergencies in a timely manner
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule with other team members
