Job summary

ATCO Frontec is seeking a 4th Class Building Operator for our RP North team in Yellowknife, NT. The role focuses on maintaining mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, building envelope, and site safety in a 24/7 facilities operation.

Qualifications

• Must hold a 4th Class Power Engineer Certification with experience preferred in biomass boiler systems or heating oil.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driving record are required.
• Must pass a drug & alcohol test, fit-to-work medical, background check, and obtain government security clearance.
• Professional communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Work on tasks as assigned by the Site Superintendent with limited supervision.
• Conduct timely maintenance and quality repair of equipment.
• Perform routine handyman duties with HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and minor carpentry.
• Ensure all building equipment is in good running order and certifications are up to date.
• Conduct daily facility walkthroughs and correct deficiencies.
• Maintain logs for equipment and meter readings where required.
• Respond to emergencies and be available for after-hours/weekend call-outs on a rotating basis.
• Use CMMS for maintenance requests in coordination with site team.
• Prioritize activities to complete work as scheduled and safely.

ATCO Frontec is seeking a 4th Class Building Operator to join our RP North team in Yellowknife, NT. The 4th Class Building Operator is responsible for performing various skilled and semi-skilled tasks to maintain a 24/7 facilities operation. Responsibilities include maintaining the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, building envelope, landscaping, fire monitoring systems

Where We Work and Live:

ATCO Frontec provides preventative and corrective maintenance services for our customers throughout Yellowknife and the surrounding areas. Our maintenance teams are mobile, and travel to other sites may be required – Inuvik, Whitehorse, Rankin Inlet, Iqaluit.

Responsibilities:

• Work on tasks as assigned by the Site Superintendent with limited supervision.
• Conduct timely maintenance services and quality repair of equipment
• Routine handyman duties; working with HVAC Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing(e.g. plunge toilets and unclog drains) and minor Carpentry.
• Ensuring all building equipment is in good running order and relevant certifications are up to date.
• Conduct daily facility walkthroughs of assigned portfolio and correct deficiencies.
• Maintain daily equipment and meter reading logs where required.
• Respond to emergency requirements; Available for emergency call out duty during afterhours and on weekends on a rotating basis.
• Conduct detailed inspections to ensure that scheduled and periodic maintenance of building and equipment have been completed.
• Active participation in Preventative Maintenance program including unscheduled repairs.
• Use CMMS for processing Corrective and Preventative Maintenance requests in conjunction with site superintendent and maintenance administrator personnel.
• Prioritize activities to complete work as scheduled and in a timely manner.
• Follow safe work practices and ensure work is performed in accordance with work standards.
• Maintain all service tools and equipment in good working condition and arrange for repair orreplacement as required.
• Others duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 4th Class Power Engineer Certification, preferably with experience with Biomass Boiler Systems and/or Heating Oil, Minimum 5 years’ experience is required.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean drivers abstract is required.
• Must be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol Test, Fit-to-Work Test, and Extensive Background Check.
• Must be able to obtain Government Security Clearance.
