Qualifications

About the Role :

BIOVECTRA Inc. has an immediate opening for an Electrical Maintenance Technician with a focus on electrical support of maintenance repair and troubleshooting our industrial lab and manufacturing equipment at our operations in Windsor, Nova Scotia. This role is critical in ensuring the optimal performance of research and production equipment by performing installations, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot research and manufacturing process equipment, including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and plumbing systems.
  • Troubleshooting complex components and electrical issues.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley and Rockwell PLC's.
  • Relocate equipment as needed, including assembly and dismantling procedures.
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on various research and manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct analytical troubleshooting to identify and resolve equipment irregularities.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions for equipment and process malfunctions.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings through equipment optimization.
  • Conduct corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance in laboratory and production environments.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and other facility information systems.
  • Document repair histories and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Be willing and able to work shift schedules as required.

What You Bring To the Role :

  • Post-secondary education in a mechanical trade program or an engineering technician program.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing facility.
  • Red Seal or Nova Scotia provincial electrical certification.
  • Troubleshooting complex components and electrical issues
  • Knowledge of Standard Operating / Work Procedures in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

A benefit if you have any of the below :

  • 3+ years of experience in a regulated environment; food, aerospace, biologics, or pharmaceuticals, etc.
  • Experience with computer-based maintenance software.
