Location: Sydney, NS (in-office only, must relocate)

Term: 16 week work term, Full-Time

45Drives is seeking a motivated Dalhousie University student in a computer science co-operative program for a four-month co-op term. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to gain valuable experience working with our team of engineers, software developers, data storage architects and even directly with our awesome customers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

About the Opportunity

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Providing customer service and technical advice under the guidance of your leadership to new and existing customers of varying degrees of technical skill, post-sale. This includes commissioning and maintenance of their storage solution.
  • Troubleshooting 45Drives and other hardware platforms remotely in customer
  • Troubleshooting 45Drives software stack in a Linux environment.
  • Working with our 45Drives service ticket system.
  • Providing feedback to Research and Development team regarding improvement to application design.

Above all else, we are looking for someone who enjoys taking initiative in order to help people and solve complex problems within a busy environment, where no two days are alike!

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in IT or Computer Science program with requirement for a co-op work term
  • Comfortable speaking and interacting over the phone.
  • Experience providing customer service, especially over the phone, and through Remote Desktop
  • Experience in Linux Storage Systems and Networking.
  • Strong Problem-solving skills and Troubleshooting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • People-driven personality
  • Willingness to learn new things

45 Drives will provide on-the-job training regarding company processes and procedures to the successful candidate.

Compensation is $19.00 CAD per hour for the Solutions Specialist Co-op Student Position. Additionally, upon completion of entry level training there is potential for performance-based incentive on top of base compensation.
