Job description

The Support worker will ensure the supervision, safety and treatment needs of the individual are met. The role will involve working as part of a multidisciplinary, cross sectorial support team for an individual with high support needs.

Qualifications:

  • A College Diploma in developmental services or mental health related field
  • Four years’ experience in the field of Mental Health and/or Addictions is required
  • Experience working with individuals with SMI preferred
  • DBT training considered an asset
  • Experience in the field of Mental health/developmental services
  • Experience in the provision of individual support and crisis management
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Experience in the provision of trauma informed care
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Travel regularly and to act on an “on-call” basis
  • Valid Class "G" Driver's license
  • Access to a reliable, personal vehicle
  • $1,000,000 liability vehicle insurance
  • Must hold a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Candidates without the specific education qualifications and where the position does not require certified qualification to practice, but who possess an appropriate combination of experience and other academic qualifications will also be considered.
