Job summary

Convergint in Calgary is seeking a 3rd year Electrical Apprentice or Journeyman Electrician to read drawings and determine wiring layouts for installations. The role involves pulling wire through conduits, installing conduit in partitions, and ensuring wiring between boxes, with safety as a priority.

You will gain hands-on experience in building automation and security solutions while collaborating with a team, traveling to jobsites, and advancing technical skills under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of Security systems / construction experience is an asset.
• Must have basic mechanical and electrical aptitude and work with hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

• Install conduit inside partitions or walls and pull wires to complete circuits.
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment and fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Use measuring devices, power tools and testing equipment.
• Perform installations under direct supervision following safety policies.
• Troubleshoot problems using basic skills to isolate and fix issues.
• Dig trenches to lay conduit and move heavy objects as needed.
• Seek guidance from experienced staff when required.
• Be the customer’s best service provider and support security/building automation solutions.

There may be occasional overnight travel.
