Job Title: Quality Inspector Level 2 3rd Shift

Location: Ontario, CA

Compensation:

  • Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00/hour

  • Shift Differential: Additional $2.00/hour when transitioned to 3rd shift (post-contingent hire)

  • Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

A leading precision machining company specializing in complex components for the aerospace, defense, energy, and commercial sectors.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector Level 2 to join our team on the 3rd Shift (8:15 PM - 4:45 AM, Sunday through Thursday). This is a contract-to-hire position, with initial training conducted on the 1st Shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday) for approximately three months.

The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing quality inspection, preferably within the aerospace or automotive industries, and possess strong skills in blueprint reading, GD&T, and the use of manual inspection tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform first article, in-process and final inspections on high-precision machined components.

  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T symbols to verify part compliance.

  • Utilize manual inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.

  • Document inspection results, complete non-conformance reports, and support root cause analysis.

  • Maintain inspection records and comply with company quality standards and ISO/AS9100 protocols.

  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to identify and resolve quality issues.

  • Operate or support operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment (aerospace or automotive strongly preferred).

  • Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Skilled in using manual measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).

  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and work instructions.

  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to work 3rd shift following the initial training period.
