Transdev Canada is hiring a Mechanic Apprentice for our Airdrie location

Your role

  • Actively participate in the maintenance and repair activities of various vehicles within the transportation fleet.
  • Diagnose and accurately perform all phases of vehicle and equipment service and repair under supervision of Journeyman. Repairs include brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs.
  • Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain records of all maintenance work completed including parts and supplies used.
  • Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
  • Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
  • Adhere to Transdev's standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested or required.

Your profile

  • You are part of an apprenticeship program.
  • You hold a high school diploma or GED required.
  • You hold valid driver’s license required, air endorsement required.
  • You have an appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
  • You adhere to provincial CVSE standards and the Federal Motor Vehicle Act.
  • You have advanced problem-solving abilities.
  • You possess advanced computer skills.
  • You have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • You are able to work assigned shifts.
  • This is a non-unionized position.
  • There is a requirement to work Monday- Friday 40 hours per week, some callouts may be required.
