JBS Food Canada Inc. is seeking a 3rd Class Power Engineer for the Brooks, Alberta facility. The role involves control of the boiler room and large ammonia refrigeration systems, with daily inspections and data recording under the Chief Engineer.

A minimum of two years in industry and an ABSA 3rd Class certificate are required. The candidate should demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and a proactive approach to energy optimization in a fast-paced plant environment, with relocation support

Qualifications

• Valid ABSA 3rd Class Power Engineering certificate.
• Minimum 2 years industrial experience.
• Proven team leader and player with a positive attitude.
• Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and natural gas fired steam boiler systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure total care and control of the Boiler Room and associated equipment.
• Manage an ammonia refrigerated plant operations.
• Conduct daily plant inspections of ammonia refrigeration and boiler systems.
• Record data and information under the Chief Engineer’s jurisdiction.
• Aim to reduce energy consumption across gas, electricity, water, and ammonia usage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following

• Ensure total care and control of the Boiler Room and associate ancillary equipment
• Ensure total care and control of a large ammonia refrigerated plant
• Ensure daily plant inspection of ammonia refrigeration and boiler systems and that all systems are operating in a safe and efficient manner
• Ensure the recording of data and all relevant information to the operation of the plant under the Chief Engineer’s jurisdiction
• Have a bias for action to reduce energy consumption be it gas, electricity, water, and ammonia usage

Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid (ABSA Certified) 3 rd Class Power Engineering certificate
• A minimum 2 years of industrial experience is required
• Proven team leader, team player, committed to excellence, and positive attitude
• Knowledge of Ammonia refrigeration systems and natural gas fired steam boiler systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Earn Competitive Wage: $42.55 - $43.80
