Job description

NES Fircroft is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry.

Our valued client is seeking 3rd Class Operators in Grande Prairie/Fairview, BC. Only candidates local to the area or willing to relocate will be considered as camp facilities are not available.

Reporting to the Production Foreman, you will be responsible for working with the Field team to monitor and optimize well production, pipeline systems and facilities. In this role, you will troubleshoot equipment and well problems, as well as perform ongoing basic and preventative maintenance.

  • Job location:Fairview, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 8 x 6, 10-hour shifts
    • On-call after-hours coverage for facilities or wells may occasionally be required
  • Safety sensitive position:Yes

Key Accountabilities:
  • Adhere to and engage in safety protocols including hazard identification, equipment lock-out and emergency response and comply with environmental, safety and regulatory requirements, taking corrective action as required
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform minor repairs and servicing
  • Identify and implement opportunities to increase production through optimization of wells, gathering systems and facilities
  • Responsible for the start up or shut down of wells, facilities, and equipment
  • Showcase competency with various artificial lift techniques, such as gas lift and pumpjack operation
  • Operate, optimize, and troubleshoot compression and fluid pumps
  • Communicate with operations, maintenance, construction, engineering, and management staff
  • Conduct daily accurate production accounting and ensure daily/weekly/monthly reports are accurately completed and archived
  • Manage work/activities on your sites to ensure safe and reliable work execution

What You Bring to the Role:
  • Minimum of 5 years of Operating, Instrumentation, Electrical or Mechanical Journeyperson Oil and Gas industry experience
  • Minimum Grade 12 education with preference given to GPO A-D, PFO A-D certification, Power Engineering Diploma, Journeyperson Certification, Engineering Degree or Technology Diploma
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Developed Computer skills; including Microsoft Office, PVR, PIVision, ClearScada etc.
