Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Apprentice Instrumentation Technicians are essential support members of the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Team. Our shops are located in Calgary, Fort Saskatchewan, Bonnyville, and Saskatoon. The E&I team works on local projects as well as site projects across Western Canada.

Employees are expected to support a “culture of safety,” adhere to Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Willingness to work out of town is required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be a 3rd or 4th year registered Apprentice with the appropriate provincial authority
  • Successfully complete the Swagelok Installation course
  • Possess tubing experience and knowledge
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Extensive experience in constructing, repairing, and altering instrument tubing per ABSA standards
  • Work with pneumatic and electronic instruments to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, level, and composition
  • Test the accuracy of flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, and other instruments
  • Calibrate, repair, maintain, and adjust system components; install and maintain instruments on new or existing equipment
  • Prepare schematic drawings, sketches, and reports reflecting changes or alterations in instruments, circuits, and systems
  • Read and interpret P&ID’s and Isometrics
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety
