Job description

Position Summary

Apprentice Electricians possess the full range of knowledge required to install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for various purposes, including climate control, security, lighting, power sources, and communications. With shops in Calgary, Fort Saskatchewan, Bonnyville, and Saskatoon, the E&I team works on local projects as well as site projects throughout Western Canada.

Employees are expected to support and participate in a safety culture, adhere to Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.

Position Details:

  1. Camp Project at Cenovus Foster Creek
  2. 8/6 Rotation
  3. 12-hour days
  4. Rotational Travel Allowance Provided

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Must be a registered 3rd or 4th year Apprentice with the appropriate provincial authority
  2. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing

Core Accountabilities

  1. Install, alter, repair, and maintain electrical systems and related equipment
  2. Read and interpret electrical and mechanical code specifications
  3. Plan layouts and illustrate electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes
  4. Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services
  5. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and defects, ensuring compliance with codes
