Job summary

Studio AM in Toronto is seeking a Toronto-based 3D Generalist to join our team on a large-format LED project. You'll work with our 3D team and producer on character animation and rendering for a landmark installation.

The role emphasizes Cinema 4D with Redshift, collaboration in a producer-led workflow, and flexibility with hybrid on-site work. Fixed-term contract: 3 months, 40 hours/week, start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Strong Cinema 4D skills across modeling, texturing, lighting and animation.
• Redshift experience or comparable GPU renderer.
• A reel showing character work, ideally for large-format / LED or non-standard aspect ratios.
• Comfort with a collaborative pipeline and producer-led workflow.

Responsibilities

• Create character animation and rendering for a 5120x1408 LED canvas.
• Work with the 3D team and producer on rigging and animation phases.
• Deliver cinematic scenes featuring stylized IP characters for a landmark installation.
• Support the project through the ramp-up period and collaborate across departments.

Studio AM is hiring: 3D Generalist (Cinema 4D) // Toronto

Studio AM is looking for a Toronto-based 3D Generalist to join our team on a large-format LED project running through September 2026. You'll be working alongside our 3D Team and producer on character animation and rendering for a landmark installation.

The work

Character-driven 3D animation for a 5120x1408 P3.9 LED canvas. Deliverables include cinematic scenes featuring stylized IP characters (bears, cows, and more). The project is currently in rigging and animation phases, with rendering ramping up through the summer.

You should have

• Strong Cinema 4D skills across modeling, texturing, lighting, and animation
• Redshift experience (or comparable GPU renderer)
• A reel showing character work, ideally at non-standard aspect ratios or for large-format / OOH / LED
• Comfort with a collaborative pipeline and structured producer-led workflow
• Bonus: rigging chops, ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, or Houdini FX

• Location: In-studio at 55 Polson St, Toronto (hybrid possible for the right person)
• Duration: Now through late September 2026, with potential to extend into Phase 2

Logistics

• Workstation: Studio AM provides a high-end render workstation (Threadripper PRO, RTX 5090, 128GB ECC) at our Polson Street studio. Remote work supported with your own rig of comparable capability.
• Hybrid expectation: At least 2 days/week on-site at 55 Polson preferred for collaboration with the 3D and creative team. Fully remote considered for exceptional senior candidates.
• Contract terms: Fixed-term, 3 months, 40 hrs/week, paid bi-weekly. Extension highly likely based on project pipeline.
