Experience with CAT, CUMMINS, and PACCAR engines
Experience with electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting
Previous mechanical experience in a shop environment

Effective communication skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Job description

We are currently seeking a Field Truck and Coach Technician to join our Peterbilt Dealership in Cardinal, ON. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of truck and coach equipment and attachments in a field environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair on-road equipment efficiently and effectively
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Utilize instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Document all work accurately and completely on work orders
  • Assess service task hazards continuously and ensure safety standards are met
  • Use computer applications to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Use parts catalogues to locate and order parts
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Coach technician trade or equivalent
  • Experience with CAT, CUMMINS, and PACCAR engines is an asset
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems is an asset
  • Previous mechanical experience in a shop environment is an asset
  • Must be registered in the 310T trade
  • Strong commitment to customer service and service excellence
  • Effective communication skills with customers, team members, and branch personnel
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
