310T Truck & Coach Technician

Position: Full-time, Permanent

Job Summary:

Job Description:

• Fixes and performs regular maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Inspects, finds, and repairs problems with electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
• Uses computer systems to diagnose issues and assign repairs
• Follows standard time guidelines for repairs
• Responds to emergency breakdowns
• Checks the safety of vehicles and equipment
• Completes paperwork in a fleet maintenance system, tracking parts used and repair times
• Reviews and addresses repairs listed in driver inspection reports
• Performs other maintenance tasks as needed

• Fast-paced
• Odorous and dirty
• Working on garbage trucks
• Day shifts: Glenn on days with 2 others
• Afternoon shifts: 3 employees
• Aims to maintain a 1-1 ratio of licensed to apprentice technicians
• Oil present on the floor; not very clean
