Description

Location: Sudbury, ON

Shift: Monday to Friday, 11am-7:30pm (40h/week)

Pay rate: $35.45, increasing to $43.94 after 4 months

Requirements: Class "A" Mechanic license needed

The Class "A" Mechanic inspects, diagnoses, repairs, and/or installs parts on delivery vehicles and equipment to ensure proper function and vehicle safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, service, and repair delivery and related vehicles to meet safety, operational, and productivity standards
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs, order parts, document work, and communicate with suppliers and operations
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and report quality control issues
  • Perform repairs, install parts, and inform customers of repair status
  • Maintain parts inventory and purchase parts as needed
  • Determine if parts can be rebuilt or repaired for reuse
  • Coordinate administrative requirements for preventative maintenance
  • Provide emergency road service and assess repair feasibility on site
  • Identify root causes and repair options
  • Arrange for vehicle pickup with third-party vendors

Education:

Completion of community college courses related to automotive technology (about two academic years)

Experience:

  • Trade certification as an Automotive Service Technician (310S)
  • At least 5 years of experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive equipment
  • Quebec-specific: competence card from the parity committee or 3 years of experience with a supporting letter

Skills:
